One of the models to roll off the Weber created Ducane products line is the Affinity. Compared with other earlier models and their reputation it appears this Ducane Grill will be the most popular new unit since Weber bought the company. A search of feedback on Ducane brand grills is disheartening to say the least until you get to this model.

Pros

The first thing you will notice about this Ducane Grill is the fact that it is super heavy duty and just plain heavy. Weighing in at about 200lbs, this is not a portable unit. However, the heavier construction will stand the test of time and weather better than super light and flimsy models.

Some people feared that when Weber began producing the Ducane Grill as their economy model that the construction and usability would be subpar. The fears it seems were groundless. Weber continues to show the same commitment to excellence that they have shown in their top end models. In fact, some customers are of the opinion that the Ducane Grill Affinity is better than some of Weber’s midline models.

One thing that users are very happy with is the extreme amount of cooking space for a unit that comes in under $500. Most gas grills with over 600 square inches of cooking space are going to run you at least five hundred if not more like seven.

This is another of the few grills that the electric start does not give out on in short order. In dozens of reviews of other gas grills with electric start, that is the number one complaint. In addition, really who wants to spend that kind of money on a grill and then manually light it?

Cons

Would you believe that there is nothing bad to say about this Ducane Grill? Customers have all been more than satisfied with the grills performance and nearly unanimously give it five stars. The only negative blip on the radar was a customer frustrated by the delivery of a dented hood, which speaks more to shipping than the company.

Bottom Line

If you are ready to purchase a premium grill but not ready to fork out a grand to do it, the Ducane Grill is a good option. It heats up fast, cooks well and clean up is a breeze. Doesn’t that sound like the perfect grill?
