Thermos Grill
Thermos is well known for making portable lunch boxes, drink containers and grills. Wait, grills as in
barbeque grills? That is correct the long time maker of glass-lined thermoses also offers a unique line of grills.
At least they did in the mid 80’s the
Thermos Grill division was purchased by Char- Broil. That is why many of the grills you see today bear both the Thermos and Char-Broil logos.

Pros
One detractor from previous models was the lack of open flame grilling. So this
Thermos Grill would be built to have open flam access while retaining the griddle platform of the previous models. This was one area that it was easy to satisfy both camps on. Give those who desired it an open grill while leaving the griddle as a hinged option, pretty clever.
One thing the Advantage has over the
previous Grill-2 Go is the appearance of wheels. With the older version, the wheels were installed on the case and once the Thermos Grill was set up, it was immobile. This model has wheels ever present but lockable.
This Thermos Grill is also versatile when it comes to set up. If you are in a location where a
freestanding grill does not work, well you can simply remove the Thermos Grill body and convert the unit to a tabletop grill. This is great for small get together or tailgate parties.
Cons
Reports on this particular Thermos Grill have not been exceptional. Many people have complained about cheap construction and the longevity of the product. Common complaints include knobs that break easily, poor customer service and a faulty igniter.
The reviews are pretty evenly split with half of the customers thrilled with the unit and the other half disappointed. It could be a case of early release bugs that needed to be worked out but since the last poor review is barely a few months old, this is unlikely.
Bottom Line
The Thermos Grill model Grill 2 Go Advantage is hard to define. When half of your customers are elated and the other half disgruntled you have to wonder where the truth is. Best guess is somewhere in between the two extremes. The Advantage model is a mediocre grill with some
cool features but not much for longevity. You should be careful and look the unit over before purchasing if you go with this Thermos Grill.
